Possibly using a combined ruler/forger technique to create/control it once thrown. I could see it being used to forge a version of Krillins Destro-Disc from DBZ. Really seems like it would be a weapon rather than armor though. So it must be something that can be forged. I mean Eithan talked about the auction to get blackflame scales from a truegold. But I like the idea of dragon armor regardless. I admit to thinking this entire thing up just to have that one meta crossover line. As the scales dissipated with a hiss of extinguished flame, Lindon thought, " The dragon becomes me."
With shock he watched the arrow streak for his chest only to vaporize on contact with his armored torso, but the surprise was enough to lose control of the technique. It was distracting enough that he didn't notice Mercy loosing an arrow at him. Dark tendrils of escaping madra trailed from the black scales covering every inch of his body. "I can't hold it for long, what does it look like?" managed Lindon between ragged breaths, and looked down. An earsplitting crack a second later heralded the coalescence of the madra torus, which inverted and then snapped inward, locking around Lindon's body. His core roared with the effort of shaping Blackflame, madra hurtling through his channels, cycling in time with the torus of madra surrounding him. But rather than igniting the oddly-formed Ruler technique, Lindon twisted it one last time. Poorly aimed destruction was hardly destruction at all, and as the fingers on both hands clenched into fists, Lindon seized the black fire he had just released, working it into a coil, a rope of red and black looped around his body. Stretching out his left hand, he gathered Blackflame into his palm, but before the Striker technique fully formed, he released it in a fiery spray of chaotic madra. Finally he stood, breathed in, and on the exhale ignited the Burning Cloak. Ziel had claimed that insight wasn't needed before Underlord but here was a glimpse into the flow of the Path of Blackflame, all he needed was that flash of inspiration that had led to the Soul Cloak. Lindon ignored the yammering purple ball of spirit energy hovering over his left shoulder and focused on cycling. But what if, in keeping with the style of generally wrecking everything, Lindon comes up with the Blackflame Forger technique: It's all about "your opponent can't fight back if you just nuke him from orbit." Or point blank. The one thing that Blackflame lacks is a decent defensive technique.
